My comments on tutoring Calculus II : I am a Tennessee licensed and certified mathematics teacher for grades 7-12. I have 8 years experience teaching at the high school level. I have experience tutoring many students in Calculus in the on-campus tutoring lab at Middle Tennessee State University. I have also done a great deal of independent study for the Actuary Exam P/1, which uses a great deal of Calculus II, especially double-integrals in applications.

I have 8 years experience teaching high school mathematics in Rutherford County, TN. I taught Pre-Calculus (3 years), Algebra I (6 years), Algebra II (3 years), Geometry (2 years), Advanced Algebra and Trigonometry (2 years), and Bridge Math (1 year). I am very familiar with the newest Tennessee curriculum standards, especially for Algebra I and Algebra II and their End of Course Examinations, as well as for Bridge Math, the newest implemented course in the Tennessee high school mathematics curriculum. Tutoring students and resolving confusion are simply additional problems to solve in math. Since many students learn in different ways, one must be able to explain the same concept in various ways. The development of these alternate methods of description is a great way for not only the student to learn but also for the tutor to better understand the material.
In my final year at MTSU, Spring and Fall 2010, I had the pleasure of tutoring in mathematics. I worked for both the department of mathematics and the athletic enrichment center, each providing a different tutoring experience. As i had two maths certificates and a B.Sc degree in civil engineering from england / UK that gave me an encouragement and confidence to love and teach mathematics for more than 10 years now . I am currently a Math Tutor at TSU and enjoy it very much.
