A Little Bit About Me...

I am a graduate from the Marshall University School of Education. I earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education which has enabled me to learn a lot about Elementary curriculum as well as the skills and strategies used to teach elementary children. Throughout my education experience at Marshall I participated in many different practicum classes where I taught and tutored children in a variety of subjects. I was also required to take courses pertaining to the content knowledge of elementary school curriculum. I am very patient as long as the student is trying to learn and cares about the work. Mental support of students is half the battle.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have always enjoyed working with children, especially those of the second, third, or fourth grade level. I am patient, helpful, and considerate. I believe that there are different ways to learn and attack problems, and that all children can succeed if only encouraged to do so. I also believe that practice and learning by doing are essential in learning. I always try to make a difference in students' lives.

Most lessons can be taught in various styles but teachers are often faced with a curriculum guideline that they must follow. Often they do not have time to reteach the lesson and students begin to fall behind. With encouragement, guidance, and a new approach, many students can not only "catch up" but also stay succesful in that class.
