I taught English to low income Brazilian students in Sao Paulo Brazil's largest favela for 4 years in high school. I am a recent graduate of kennesaw State University, with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. I believe that I am competent in various areas of biology and chemistry, and will be able to convey that competence. I have taught and tutored at my church and in other volunteer programs since high school. I also currently give drum lessons at a Stephen's Music Company.
I always find myself trying to lead others to figure out material on their own as a I set guidelines for them as they do so. I believe this is the best way for them to learn the material. I do not like to tell my students the answers, inhibiting them from thinking things through. I try to find different ways of teaching material in order to keep them motivated, as well.

During my last two years at Shorter University, I was employed by both the Shorter University Writing Center and the Shorter University Periscope (the newspaper). I spent those two years tutoring students on the composition and structure of essays, and helped them edit and proofread their work. As an editor for the newspaper, I was a mentor to all of my staff writers, as well as a contributor myself.
I believe that the best way to teach a child or student is by listening to them first. By understanding what they see in the subject, I am able to put what they need to learn into perspective for them.
