I get tremendous fulfillment from watching someone who has been frustrated finally "get it." In addition to teaching music lessons, tutoring all subjects, and homeschooling my own two children, I have worked for the last 17 years with a private school. I am very interactive with the student and I want them to see me as a friend. I for one do not like to be told what to do and how to do it, that never helps me learn. It is better when you feel you are working towards a common goal with your superior. I want my student to feel free to talk to me about anything, and to enjoy learning the material he or she is struggling with. A Little Bit About Me...

After working as an environmental engineer for a couple of years, I realized that I wanted to join the teaching force. I was the rookie teacher of year for my school and then two years later, received the teacher of year nomination. During the past 5 years, I have taught chemistry, physics, and math for college readiness in which I had a 90% pass rate for the common end of course exams.

I am fascinated with the concept that the more senses you utilize in teaching the better the child learns and retains what was taught. Some children respond to verbal teaching, while others prefer visual teaching, or others like to interact with their environment (the hands on approach). Each child has their own language.
