I have been mentoring/tutoring students for the pass fifteen years in school,church or community environment. I have been choosen to work with the most difficult students. My expectations are high but has proven to have a high success rate. I have earned a BS in Human Services/Management and I am currently working on my Masters in Preschool Education. I have mentored students in Pre-K-6th grade. Also work on everyday life skills.
I believe that a good quiet environment with one on one help can open the door for every student to be successful. Failure is never an option for any child provided that he or she has the right access in the learning environment. My teaching style really depends on the person I am working with. People learn different ways. It is important to identify what works best for the person. For example, some people may learn through discussion, while others may need to see pictures or presentations of the subject matter. I like to identify how the person learns first through questions, or by testing them with a simple task first to identify the method which seems to work best for them. Once this has been identified, training can begin.

My college experience in the subjects of Economics, Government, Language, Math, Science, and Social Studies was rigorous. After finishing undergraduate courses, I worked for a program that sent college students out to public schools to be Teacher's Aids. We were expected to help any students who were falling behind in a subject. The experience was so rewarding that after graduation, I took a position working with troubled students convicted of sexual assault, teaching them math and science for six months. As a student attending Florida State University's Civil Engineering program I was required to regularly learn, understand and apply complex mathematical equations, and scientific concepts to both hypothetical and real world problems. I was also required to regularly exercise my grammatical skills through regular lab reports. In regards to tutoring experience, as a high school student attending A.C. Mosley High School during my senior year it was requested by a M.A.P.P.S.
