As a graduate of a private college, I have always been driven to perform at the top of my game. I have received two Bachelors degrees in both English literature and theater. Early in my collegiate career I gained a position as a teaching assistant (TA) and taught a required first year course for 3 out of my 4 years of college. In this position, I noticed that a lot of writing skills were missing from first year students that I felt that they should hav possessed and created and implemented a collegiate level writing and researching workshop that the college still uses. After graduating college, I served in the US Army for six years as a Chemical Defense Officer. My primary duty was to ensure that all 17,000 soldiers in the 1st Cavalry Division were trained and equipped to properly deal with chemical and biological hazards.
