I have been a private math tutor since 2008. I have been a tutor for WinShape Homes since 2008 as well. I taught math at a Unity Christain School from 2097-2008. I taught pre-algebra, algebra, algebra II, geometry, and Precalculus. I taught remedial math for 2 semesters at Shorter University, and I taught in the adult education program teaching GED math at GA Northwestern Technical College.

Mathematics Tutor

Throughout my life, I have enjoyed doing mathematics. It has been my strongest subject since grade school. In middle school and high school I was consistently one of the top students in my mathematics courses. My comments on tutoring Algebra II : I have taught Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, and 5th Grade. I am certified K-6th grade. I also taught advanced math in a GED/HiSet program. I currently teach ESOL/CIVICS for an Adult School.

My teaching philosophy starts out with essentialism which believes in a strong core curriculum and high academic standards. I believe it is important to have a strong foundation on which to build upon. After ensuring a strong foundation I tend to lean more towards progressivism. I believe students should be taught what is relevant today while becoming more independent learners, by utilizing problem solving skills and critical thinking. A Little Bit About Me...

I always find myself trying to lead others to figure out material on their own as a I set guidelines for them as they do so. I believe this is the best way for them to learn the material. I do not like to tell my students the answers, inhibiting them from thinking things through. I try to find different ways of teaching material in order to keep them motivated, as well.
