The Achievement Centers, our after school tutorial/diagnostic clinic and before and after school care, is available for all ages and subjects. Tutoring and diagnostic testing is available after school, evenings (Monday – Friday) and Saturday mornings. The clinic is available year-round. Our testing clinician and school psychologist offer a Psychoeducational Evaluation to all new students. The testing is scheduled for two three hour sessions on separate days during after school hours. The evaluation consist of various test measuring a student’s cognitive abilities, processing skills, IQ, and academic levels. I think teaching style should depend on the student. Some people move at different paces or learn better from listening or from doing the work themselves with supervision and help. I am flexible with any style and once I become familiar with a person it becomes easier to see how they learn best.
I have been attending Northern Illinois University for the past 3 years and so far have had a great experience. I am double majoring in Spanish and geography and have had good success in both subject areas with a cumulative GPA of 3.95. They are both interests of mine and I have definitely improved during my time at NIU. I attended Northeastern Illinois University and obtained a B.A. degree in Elementary & Special Education, with honors. My first job, straight out of college was as an Educational Consultant. I trained teacher how to us computers to install educational programs for their students. After four years I was transfered to Florida. I resigned after a year and returned to Chicago.
