I have a love for children, teaching, and learning. This passion is what makes me reach out to help children. I am a firm believer in trying to reach the child through the best way he/she learns. I am creative in my ways of getting the material across using all our ways of learning. I know if I touch one childs life as a teacher then I am doing something good. A Little Bit About Me...

My life has been filled with teaching and working with children. At the age of ninteen as a very young mother I felt a sense of duty in teaching my children how to achive higher than they can ever have imagined. I love to see the look of awe on their faces when they realize that they to can understand which ever subject that slips them. The rest is simple practice, practice, practice seals the deal. Then stride to the next hurdle. Each child has a different way of learning things. I find many times that a child can have to much or to little of something in their lives which interrupts their natural thought pattern. My teaching style is one that I obtained from two of my favorite college teachers whom I wished all others would duplicate themselves after. When I teach, I introduce myself and let others introduce themselves. I project an image of someone who is willing and able to assist and teach...someone who really does care (of which I have been told many times by former students). I let students know that if they have a question about anything, to please ask me. I am a detailed person and so I like to give detailed steps in achieving a desired outcome. My passion for education blossomed while volunteering as a tutor with Somali refugee children in Pittsburgh, PA during college. I worked with families in their homes to develop English reading, writing, and speaking skills. After graduating with a B.A. in History and Political Science I joined Teach For America, where I taught first grade for two years and substitute taught pre-kindergarten through fifth grade for one year. A Little Bit About Me...

As a late bloomer to my education, I understand the importance of completeing an education at the earliest time. I currently hold a BS degree in business with an emphasis on international markets. This degree has helped me to better understand and appreciate economics, business math and accounting. In pusuit of this I have written papers from a 2 page summary to an 80 page thesis.
