My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : Lower Elementary Teacher for 15 years. I like to look for the special ways to meet the way a student learns. I believe each child learns differently.

I believe each child has her/his own way in which to learn. It is a process of discovery but my experience and intuition are pretty darn good. I like to combine humor with organization and accountability, on my part, the student's part and as well as the parents'.
I am a previous elementary school teacher, focusing mainly in the lower grades during my 15 years of teaching. Prior to that I was trained and taught Montessori Elementary, Grades 1-3. I believe and was able to teach with a thematic approach in which all subjects were integrated. I was also trained in Bloom's Taxonomy, which is an awareness and knowledge of the seven different learning styles.

I have taught English full time for two years, participated in numerous writing workshops, and been a fiction editor for CreateSpace Publishing and Pressque LLE from 2009 to the present. My editing work is not proofreading so much as working with authors to achieve their goals and improve their writing in areas of plot, style, character development, tone, and structure.
I learn best by teaching, and there is nothing I like so well as working with people to help them achieve their goals. Writing is, more than anything, a discipline, and I am a source of accountability, encouragement, and instruction as well as a sounding board for my student's ideas. My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : I have a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My creative writing experience includes poetry, short fiction, and young adult/children's fiction. I recently finished writing a novel and am in the (hopeful) process of publication.

A Little Bit About Me...

I know what it takes to teach and learn a foreign language because I am fluent in French. I was inspired by watching the great teachers that I had in high school and college. I have taught English as a second language, so I have classroom experience to add to my general knowledge of the language and culture.
