My comments on tutoring Shakespeare : Very successful at teaching not just the basics but also the conventions and joy of Shakespeare.

I combine various styles from "old school" to best practices to differentiated offers.
I have taught nearly all areas of language arts including, but not limited to, ECA/GQE remediation, SAT/ACT prep, beginning-intermediate-advance composition, AP English/literature, poetry, American literature, British literature, drama, speech, and school newspaper. I have extensive experience teaching writing to a diverse group of students. After graduating from Indiana University with a BA in English, I taught high school English in East Lansing Michigan from 1988 until 1991. In the fall of 1991, I began work toward a MA in English at the University of New Mexico. Upon earning my MA, I taught English Composition at Grand Valley State University and Albion College. Students learn to write by writing (and by reading). I have used a number of different text books but I find that students learn best when writing about something that matters to them. My approach to tutoring, then, would be to find out what a student truly cares about and start from there. In addition, I would begin by taking a diagnostic writing sample in order to see what mechanical issues seemed most important to address. I would never attempt to tutor a student with some kind of formulaic, standardized regimen of study but would work my hardest to tailor tutoring sessions to the individual needs of each student.

I first taught when I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Yemen. I had just graduated with an English degree and a teaching certificate, and I taught English to Yemeni men and women.
