My comments on tutoring Poetry : I have been writing poetry for a long time and also have done numerous spoken word events.

I have been tutoring independently since 2009 but have always liked helping others learn. I am good with math and numbers. EXCELLENT EDUCATOR!!!

My teaching and classroom management style is very authoritative. I like to set clear and concise classroom rules and expectations. Teachers should take time to set rules in a visible place for students, review them daily, and have consequences when the rules are not followed. However, students will be acknowledged for doing the right thing through classroom recognition or a prize. Students should have a set routine each day. This will allow them to know and understand what to expect with the classroom. If the routine has to be changed, this is explained ahead of time and students are guided into the transition. This will alleviate discipline problems.

My comments on tutoring Poetry : I have taught poetry in the Fayette and Rome County School Systems to high school students.

I opt for making the material relatable to my students, which causes it to be more interesting and meaningful. When something is relevant, it is a lot more fun and kids are much more willing to want to learn, which is, of course, ideal.
I graduated from McIntosh High School in Fayette County and studied English and Secondary Education at Berry College. I student taught for a year at Rome High School before graduating and becoming a substitute teacher in Fayette County. I have completed three long-term substitute positions, two of which put me in charge of an entire classroom with all the responsibilities of a full-time teacher. Learning never ceases; so, why should you?

My teaching style is a mixture of strict and lenient. I try to form a connection with students and apply that to my teaching method (i.e. incorporating a similar hobby in a question in order for the student to understand the material better). I expect my students to give me and the other students respect- never speaking while others are speaking, no disruptions, ect. This method of teaching has shown effective and a fun learning environment. I base my curriculum around the importance of reading. Reading is the easiest and most effective way of obtaining knowledge and using it in the world.
