My teaching experience is very diverse. During my appointments as a teaching assistant and tutor I have worked with students of every demographic, learning style, and education level. I am very effective at teaching complex subjects and making them easier to grasp for all students. My goal is to take subjects which most students find intimidating and making them fun and rewarding. I have been involved in teaching chemistry and mathematics throughout my entire time as a graduate student and the last portion of my undergraduate studies. My mathematics teaching skills range from basic algebra through multivariable calculus, whereas I am experienced in teaching at all levels of general and organic chemistry.

My personal teaching philosophy is that there is no teaching without learning. Most classroom studies are at least partly removed from their intended application, for reasons of assuring comprehensive competency and because of the educational structure, i.e. attending school comes in advance of and separately from applying one’s knowledge. However, learning a language,for example and especially while living in it has both a need for constant practice and occasion for immediate application. The broader linguistic community has thusly prioritized practical teaching methods, of which I wish to avail myself. I received a B.S. Degree in Education with a teaching certificate in English-Communication, at the secondary level. I am also qualified to instruct younger children. My graduate work focused on elementary students.My experience with young children, was learning to identify reading disabilities, administering standardized reading tests, to assess the instructional and readiness levels of individual students. I have taught in a wide array of classroom settings and as a private tutor.
