After finishing my masters degree at Sacred Heart in Elementary Education, I accepted a position as a special ed aide for a boy in the third grade with severe learning disabilities. The following school year I was teaching second grade in the Bridgeport Public Schools. I then spent three years teaching sixth, seventh, and eighth grade at an interdistrict magnet school in Bridgeport. At the middle school level, I taught primarily Language Arts and Math.
