I teach paralegal certification courses at various colleges across New York State. I teach my students through case law and research. I'm very laid back and patient when it comes to teaching. I can empathize with students who have difficulty in a subject because at one point in my educational career I had trouble and needed help. I do believe that almost every one is capable of learning and progressing, given the right opportunity. It makes me feel great to help someone achieve their goals. I'm a personal trainer, which is very similar to tutoring. I love seeing people improve because of my assistance. Before I was able to tutor, I taught 7 year old girls cheerleading. When I began to tutor, I enjoyed being one on one with the child. I am very patient, punctual and considerate. I know children that need extra help need extra time. I find it personally rewarding to supplament a child's education. I also believe it is easier for a child to ask questions when they are one on one with an educator.
Beginning in high school I found myself driven to help children in need. Through my participation in Mercy Action, I raised money for mentally delayed children, and set up numerous barbeques for them. Later, I began tutoring a young brazilian boy in the 5th grade. He needed help with all of his studies, especially math and english. As a political science major, I have gained experienced in essay writing, grammatical skills and research methods.
