A Little Bit About Me...

I have just completed my bachelors degree in elementary education from the University of Nebraska (Lincoln). I have had practicum experiences in 1st, 2nd, and 5th grade along with my student teaching semester in 3rd grade. Next fall I will be commuting to the University of Nebraska (Omaha) to complete a k-12 masters degree in school library sciences because I am interested in becoming an elementary media specialist. I have been a Human Resources Manager for past 10 years. A good portion of my job is involved with training. While there are differences in training/teaching adults versus young adults and children, the basics are still the same. I have volunteered in the past as religious educator for children in first, second and fourth grade. I also did some volunteer tutoring over 8 years ago in Mississippi as I was involved with the local literacy council.
I like to make teaching fun. I pride myself on my ability to add fun through puzzles, arts and crafts, etc. and teach all at the same time. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style varies with skill level. Some children need reinforcement schedules while others just need help puting their foot in the right direction. I let my students know that learning is a team effort, instilling that they are not in this alone and that their success is exciting for myself as well.
