A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching children who are so eager to learn. I am always a constant student myself, learning new ways to teach someone the confidence they need to make it in a world filled with technology and also being able to keep that interpersonal communication that everyone needs to succeed in life. I am very patient and outgoing and am always looking for new ways to come up with a fun new way to teach about communications, business, public speaking, and also basic computer skills. I am always ready and willing to make that imprint in a child or young adults life.
As a graduate of an all girls private school (Peace College) in Raleigh NC, I have become a true leader in the female world. I have always been driven to make a mark in this world by setting by example. I have earned a BA in Communications, specializing in Public Relations and Advertising. More About This Tutor...

In earning my bachelors of science degree at the University of South Carolina Aiken, I gained a true love for biology. I excelled in entry-level biology classes, as well as higher-level science classes such as ecology and evolution. I am also proficient in writing, English, and math. During my college career, I have tutored mostly in sciences and math.
I know firsthand that great teachers make great students. It took several years to discover my learning style because I had to find it on my own. I want to be able to help students find their own learning style. I believe that subjects are best learned when broken down, and repetition is key. I also believe practice makes perfect. I know that a student needs to know the basics first, then can move on to more complex ideas.

A Little Bit About Me...

My experience tutoring began during my high school years, where I would tutor Spanish and English to my peers, especially focusing on written and oral language skills as well as literary analysis. While earning my undergraduate degree from Boston College, I worked as a tutor and mentor at a local elementary school. There, I assisted with math, phonics, writing, and science coursework, as well as any other assignments given to the students. Additionally, I volunteered at a local union, where I taught English as a second language to adults in a one on one setting. I hold a B.S. in Environmental Geoscience, and possess a strong knowledge in the earth sciences and environmental issues.
Because I have tutored adults, children as young as four, and all ages in between in a range of subjects, I have a very accommodating teaching style. I know how important it is to adapt teaching t ... read more

As a student throughout high school and college I have enjoyed learning and often joke with my friends that I would go to school forever if I could. I have earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemistry at a very academic and research oriented school. I am currently continuing my education through an online Master's of Science in Forensic Toxicology program with the University of Florida. I very much enjoy learning about mathematics and sciences, but have also acquired a broad knowledge of grammar and writing through laboratory reports and essays. I have tutored several of my friends informally and started tutoring students in Algebra I/II, Chemistry, and basic reading/math skills about two years ago.
I believe that all children have the potential to learn and am a strong advocate of customized teaching. I am so drawn to the mathematics and sciences because I learn from wo ... read more

I love teaching holistically. I belive strongly in differentiation, not everyone learns the same way. I belive in teaching children out themselves so that they can bulid better study habbits in all areas that they study. I also belive in guided discovery and hands on learning. linking personal meaning and experience with a subject matter helps to solidify retention and create a "learning lightbulb.."
As a Spanish/English graduate from UNCW I began teching Spanish at the Friends school Of Wilmington. I taught there for two years.
