I love teaching holistically. I belive strongly in differentiation, not everyone learns the same way. I belive in teaching children out themselves so that they can bulid better study habbits in all areas that they study. I have completed both an MBA and bachelors degree in business and during that education I studied a wide array subjects. Marketing, Finance, accounting, HR, and economics. The cumulation of all this experience has taught me well and now I would love the opportunity to pass on this knowledge to others and help them get through challenging times. I am very open and ask for a lot of participation on behalf of the student. I feel that if they get involved and ask lots of questions that they will learn better. I graduated Cum Laude, in English literature. I have always done well in English, and have always enjoyed reading and writing. I was a member of STD, the English Honors Society, and loved helping out with various events. I have privately tutored middle and elementary school students, in which they all received better grades than the year before. I really enjoy hands on learning/teaching style. I think students learn better by doing, though learning to take better notes helps with being able to do more hands on. I have always liked working with students, and have taken some education courses. I think it is very important to make learning more fun.

As a graduate from western Carolina University, I earned my BS in Criminal Justice in three years and am close to gaining my MS in Human Services. I have been working in the human service field as a case manager/community support worker. Although it is not thought of as a teaching job, I have had the pleasure of teaching children and adults basic skills, academic skills and assisting with homework. The homework assistance ranged from 3rd grade to highschool. I was able to assist one of my students with improving his reading score in a semester. I have found a great place in teaching, especially tutoring, due to my desire to help other people. I enjoy walking students through new information and giving them a firm understanding of the concepts and facts. I believe that there is nothing outside of a students grasp. I present the information straight forward, then use analogies and metaphors to relate the information to the students on a different level, giving them a more solid comprehension of the material.
