I was trained in the Socratic style, which seems to match well with inquiry-based learning, and that is how my classes usually end up. I introduce activities, then gradually release them to the students to lead.

I like to instill in students a desire to learn. It makes it easier for them to have fun learning and easier for me to teach them new subjects. My first goal as a tutor, especially in reading and writing, is to connect with the student and find a topic that interests them. One of the biggest issues faced by struggling students is that they often don't identify with the problems.
