My comments on tutoring ADD/ADHD : I am an EBD teacher in St.Paul School District since 2003. I have experience working with students with ADD/ADHD ages 6 to 17.

I have 22 years experience of working with students ages 6 to 17 in two different countries. I taught elementary for two years in India and 4 years of 6th grade to 10th grade in India. I worked as a Teaching Assistant in California for one year in a middle school in a special education classroom. I got the opportunity to work as a T.A in St.Paul School District for 2 years with special needs students in an elementary school. A Little Bit About Me...

I'm in my senior year of High School, I have worked with my siblings on their school all of my life. I've helped my little brother who has ADHD with his homework, I've worked with him through book projects, spelling tests, history homework, pretty much anything and everything. I'm also very talented in the English area, writing and grammar specifically. Can write with both my right and my left hands, I work well with children no matter the age.

My teaching career has afforded me the opportunity to work individually with students of all ages and from economically and culturally diverse backgrounds. I believe each student thrives when he or she is able to explore the writing process in a tutorial context, as a complement to the classroom setting, which cannot address individual problems as effectively. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in meeting each child at his/her current skill level and building confidence and concepts from there. Each student has his/her own strengths and weaknesses, and learns at his/her own pace. Rather than expecting all students to understand a concept using one teaching style, I teach a lesson using multiple modalities followed by step-by-step tasks which reward successive approximations to a concept.
