I have been employed at Stanly Community College for almost 20 years in the Media Services Department. I have also served as an adjunct faculty member since 2011. Classes I've taught include MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word, Intro to Computers, and College Student Success. I own a part-time business, Mark Sample Multimedia Enterprises, which specializes in video production. I love working with children. I believe that all children can learn, but each child learns in a different way. In order to help a student, you must find out how they learn. You also must find their passion. With this information (passion and learning style), you can help any student succeed. Many of my students have been considered as slow, but once I began working with them, I realized that they just lacked the basic skills. In the beginning being a doctor was all that I desired. Helping others, tending to their wounds and etc was my dream. It wasn't until I had the honor of tutoring others that I realized, my passion to teach was equally as strong as my passion for medicine. I feel no child is incapable of learning.
