English ESOL is one of my top subjects! I hold a 160 hours TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification. During the process of this certification, I learned how to teach important English skills such as speaking, reading, writing, listening, grammar, and pronunciation. I also have experience teaching ESL to adults of different English levels and nationalities.

In my ESL classes, I try to stress communication and emphasize the skills that will help the students use the language independently rather than lecture them. I will use a similar approach with you, but will be flexible enough to adapt to your needs. I will have challenging assessments for my students to ensure they understand the concepts covered in the class and provide insightful feedback so that they can continue to improve.
Hello there! My name is Nikhil and I would love to be your English tutor and help you improve your confidence with the language. I have several years of teaching experience, which have helped me develop the important skills of patience, communication, creativity, and being organized which are important to being an effective teacher. I used to teach Economics to college freshmen and sophomores while I was a graduate student at the University of Virginia ... read more

My comments on tutoring English ESOL : I have been teaching Russian and ESL (English as a Second Language) for over 10 years. A language lesson include a variety of activities that combine different types of language input and output. To become engaged learners, students need to understand that learning a language is not the same as learning about a language. Students need to understand that learning a language means becoming able to use it to comprehend, communicate, and think – as they do in their first language. I Keep the overall focus on communication, not error correction. I Teach students that mistakes are learning opportunities. When their errors interfere with their ability to communicate, they must develop strategies for handling the misunderstanding that results. I maintain the attitude that mistakes are a natural part of learning, I create a supportive environment where students are willing to try to use the language. When teaching students I use visual support like videos very often. Activities allow students to apply the knowledge they have gained with the instructor to situations outside. Activities include out-of-class observation assignments, in which I ask students to find examples of something or to use a strategy and then report back. I help students with homework if they had no time to do that at home. Students will never feel like they are alone in this journey of learning. - I am 100% fluent in English - I am professional with a great track record - I am actively tutoring others - I am able to help a wide variety of people (casual learning, business learning, etc.)

Spanish and ESL Enthusiast At Your Service!

I think it is important to help learners make early connections to what is being studied through discussion of prior experiences and related meaningful discoveries. I like to teach using acronyms, graphic organizers, and other categorization strategies so that connections are made between nouns and verb structures. For the younger learner I have also used songs, games, crafts, and movement to augment the language learning journey.

I love educating others and teaching others to teach themselves. I believe each one of us has a specific learning style that needs to be discovered and emphasized for maximum learning potential. The responsibility of an educator is to understand learning differences and make sure to use learning tools that best suites the student. Without this knowledge, many smart and capable children will be left behind and not given the resources they deserve. This is why I love the process of learning and learning how to be a learner!

After studying English for four years, I have an extensive knowledge of the English language, English literature and writing skills. My Teaching Style During my almost 30-year teaching career I had students with very different needs and abilities. I taught English from kindergarten through 12th grade in public and private schools. I worked with recent immigrants and refugees who were sometimes barely literate. I also taught English courses in language schools and prepared people to exams like the TOEFL. I had students in my classes from all over the world. This diverse background makes it possible for me to understand and help my future students.
My Teaching Style I believe in creating an atmosphere that facilitates learning. Students need to feel safe and comfortable in the classroom. This can be achieved with a lot of patience and genuine interest in the student. Though everybody benefits from patience and setting clear goals, teachers also have to take individual learning styles into consideration. ... read more

I am passionate about learning and education. As a native of Princeton, NJ, I have tutored Princeton students in English for almost 20 years. I have also tutored in Spanish (in which I hold a BA) and French (I resided in France for 3 years). I have a wide variety of business skills, and hold a Master's degree in International Business. I have excellent communications and interpersonal skills and look forward to meeting your tutoring and learning needs. (Me gustaria mucho ayudarle)
I like to adapt my style to the student's personality and learning style. Some students learn best through visual methods, some auditory and some prefer experiential learning. While textbooks often provide a good foundation, I like to use "real world" teaching if possible. For example, I might have a student act out a situation (renting a car, for example) that he or she may encounter in real l ... read more

I love to share my knowledge of the English language with others, and take joy in seeing others learn to craft words effectively. I believe teaching others to use language properly is an empowering experience, and I do so through patient explanation, example, and brainstorming. I use methods that encourage my students to self correct, which enables them not only to improve the assignment they're working on, but also helps them recognize their mistakes to become better writers overall. It is my firm belief that every student can learn to write well if they are given the right tools and the right training. When I teach students, I strive to bring out each writer's voice and tone through encouragement and instruction.
