I am experienced in the English and Reading components of the ACT, both in content and strategies. I received a 34 on the reading section of the ACT and a 32 on the English section. I am graduating in May with a BS in Psychology at the University of Kentucky. I have had tutoring experiences with a wide range of ages, from middle school students to college students. I currently tutor college students and am hoping to expand my tutoring services. I like to make learning an interactive process as I believe students are more likely to retain what they learn when they have an active role in their success of understanding the material. Because I went through the accelerated program I understand the need of hands on activities and alternative learning styles. I bring these into my teaching. I also am a firm believer that doing a lot of problems is the best way to get good at a subject, especially math. I am a high school senior and have been tutoring peers since middle school. Because I am so young I have very few official tutoring hours, however I do mentor freshmen through our highschool EAP program and younger girls through the STEM program. I have been tutoring students of all ages since I was in high school. I began by tutoring my own peers in math and social studies. I would also tutor children from 1st grade on up in all subjects. Once in college, I tutored college students and younger in many fields, primarily mathematics courses. If this wasn't complete enough, I would allow the student to use some of the learning CD's I have on the subjects that are also problem driven.
