I have 38 years of business and professional experience. I have mentored over 100 individuals in many different areas. Please see my Profile for my areas of expertise. My mentees have been more than pleased with the results. I also mentor in life skills such as work-life balance, females in a "male" work force, dealing with stress/pressure at work and at home.
I adjust to what the mentee wants or what works the best for the particular mentee. Everyone learns, absorbs information, and applies it in different ways. I am flexible in my teaching style.

I have always found tutoring to be a way to give back to the community. As a Biochemistry student at St. Cloud State University I found that tutoring others and helping others actually helped me also gain a better understanding. I have an extensive background in science and laboratory work. I am currently attending law School at St. Thomas University School of Law and intend to combine my background in science in the field of intellectual property. I have helped or tutored in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Calculus and lower level math classes.
I find that tutoring is very fulfilling and a good way to give back to the community. I like to break down the subject into terms that a person might find more interesting or easier to understand. I think that building trust is also very important in the tutor relationship. The trust will allow the student to admit what he/she d ... read more

I have been told I am a patient and imaginative teacher. I have been a camp counselor at a nature camp for six summers and have tutored and taught for an additional 5 years. In this time I learned how to help children learn, and how to make it fun. For many children learning how to teach them is the hardest part, i.e. to use visual aids, or to make use of kinetic learning. With many years of experience I have learned to identify and then utilize the appropriate learning style to achieve the maximum level of improvement.
Throughout my four years at Marquette I tutored in three programs including the federally recognized TRIO program to help advance the college prospects of inner city minorities. I tutored in high school and college level math, science, social studies, English and literature. At Marquette I earned a BA in history and theology. I also studied abroad and at Marq ... read more

I am extremely passionate about all topics related to the biological sciences. I earned a bachelor's degree in Biology. During my undergraduate education I had the opportunity to enhance my ability to educate others and share the fascinating world of biology. I was honored with a teaching position in Osteology and tutored students in Cell biology and statistics. I had phenomenal success with my students and found myself tutoring fellow biology students in my own classes for fun. I also have a masters degree in Ecology and Evolution. During this time I worked as an anatomy and physiology instructor. I also worked as an instructor at Globe University teaching Earth Science, General Biology, and Environmental Issues.
Personally I believe in guiding the student through a topic until they reach self-discovery. I absolutely love watching a student grasp a challenging topic espec ... read more

During my undergrad studies at UWRF, I was sponsored to become a tutor in the Writing Center on campus. There was a prerequisite practicum, but it was very hands-on learning. I worked with students from a variety of backgrounds (ESL, freshman comp, MS candidates, etc). At Metro State I participated in a semester program teaching English in Puerto Rico, for which I received the ESL certification. I also TA'd for Writing and Designing for the Web.
I am a very adaptable teacher--I can easily pick up on a student's needs and abilities, and work to their strengths in that way. I enjoy not only helping them learn, but also their backstory and considering how it affects their learning style. I also have an innate love of learning, and feel that it's a great gift to help someone realize their own potential.
