My comments on tutoring World History : I have a history Minor attached to my undergraduate degree. I specialize in Russian History, American History, and European History.

During my high school and university careers, I have focused primarily on languages and language acquisition. I have studied 12 different languages and I have obtained varying degrees of proficiency in each of them: Latin, Romanian, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, German, Danish, Swedish, Greek, Scottish Gaelic, and Welsh. I am most proficient in Russian and Latin, with conversational proficiency in Danish, French, and Spanish. In all others, I have basic/intermediate proficiency skills. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. I have very strong math skills, especially in Algebra, which is what my daughter is learning now. I excelled in grammar, art, health, and science as well. I was a teacher at a private school for a year after college before I started a family and began home schooling. My daughter is now in the 8th grade and tests at the college level in reading and high school levels at most other subjects.

I enjoy working with students to help them understand biology and how they participate in a biological world. I believe that the most important concept in teaching is engagement with the student. I strive to engage students in biology by exploring how biological concepts relate to the students life. Then I work with them on being able to articulate and write their ideas down...subject matter follows naturally if they have the confidence and can just think for themselves not just spit back facts and what others want to hear.
