I have been substitute teaching for the past three years while completing my Masters Degree through Western Governors University. I have tutored three students in reading, writing and mathematics. All three students had learning disabilities and all made excellent progress while working with me. A Little Bit About Me...

As a Cornell graduate, I have had the opportunity be lectured by academic experts spanning a wide variety of disciplines, and have experienced many different teaching styles. I have worked as a course assistant, grading homeworks and tutoring students, in Calculus I for four semesters. Prior to transferring to Cornell to study Economics, I was a Physics major at Ithaca College, was a dean's list student and also was a member of the Oracle Honor Society. This past summer I worked at a sports camp (Camp Woodward) counseling and instructing children ages 12-16. I have recently taken an interest in English literary theory. I am currently a substitute teacher and work everyday in one of four school districts in the Rochester area. I enjoy helping and tutoring kids. I teach ESL to adults on Monday and Wednesday nights and that is very similar to tutoring. I believe tutoring is very rewarding as a teacher and for the student.
My teaching style depends on the student. Some students need more visual and audio while others depend on memorization. I like to modify my style that suits their needs as a learner. I beleive in comprehension skills, memorization and learning key concepts to help them link connections.
