Children can understand visually, verbally or in written form. Each child has different ways of understanding a particular subject and it is important to find out how the child wants to be tutored very early. My style is to have a candid discussion with the child in order to ascertain why the child is having problems with a particular subject and how that child expects to be able to be taught. I 19 and have an Associate in Science and an Associate in Arts. I have been taking college classes since I was a Jr in High School , and I have been tutoring my friends and younger relatives since the 6th grade. I have tutored subjects ranging from linear algebra to college calculus. I have never done formal tutoring ,and I think the most I have ever been paid for my tutoring services was a meal at cookout.

Professional Exam Prep and Subject Tutoring

During my time as Head Tutor at UNCA, regardless of department, I tutored over 200 students in mathematics and physics. Of those students, at least 80% saw an increase of at least one letter grade and at least 20% saw an increase by two letter grades. Teacher with gentle touch - Very good at explaining new subj

I try to find the teaching style that is going to work for the student. Are they visual? Do they need to touch to learn? Finding out how to teach them and then helping them learn skills for independent study are just as important as the material.
