I hate lecturing! I do! This is why my tutoring style is very interactive. I don't like talking AT a person, I prefer to have a conversation. My goal as a tutor is to make subjects interesting, and also to make sure they stick- so you can do well on exams. I also teach study skills in every session, so ideally you won't have to rely on me forever. Teaching can be a most wonderful adventure. I believe every child can learn. At times students or overwhelming with new concepts, and they need to be encouraged, and praise until they can accomplish the task at hand. I enjoy seeing the appearence of awareness on a childs face, when they have accomplished a goal, or solved a problem they had difficulty solving. A Little Bit About Me...

I worked as a career counselor for 16 years. I was able to be a tutor for 6 years during this period. During those 6 years, I worked with high school students and tutured them in basic math. This period was very rewarding. Seeing the students go from third or fourth grade level of math to seventh or eigth grade level of math was a natural high for this students. This accomplishment made the students believe more in themselves,in what they can do and it opened more doors for a better future in thier personal lives.
