I am a senior history and anthropology major at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. I minor in Classics (Latin and History) and German. I have studied Spanish since 2013. I studied abroad in Salzburg, Austria and Aachen, Germany in Summer 2015. I visited the Yucatán for a month in 2014 to use my Spanish skills. I am currently doing research with a professor with a digital aspect on Archaic Greece.

Spanish is one of my top subjects! High School Spanish 1-3 and College Spanish 2-4

I'm am a current college student at Nebraska Wesleyan University. I graduated from Malcolm High School with high honors (3.948 GPA) and I currently have a 3.6 GPA (I've found college is a little harder than high school). I received only 5 B+'s in my high school career and the rest were A's. I was on the honor role my entire high school career. I participated in choir, band, cheer/dance, and drama and was in National Honors Society. I received many awards for academics and my extra curricular activities.
I don't really have a teaching style because I have never been an actual tutor before. But, I love helping people and I always helped my friends with homework, especially in math. I have obtained my bachelors in Spanish already but I wont graduate till 2015 because I am going for my bachelors in Psychology also. I am fluent in spanish. Spanish was my first language and did not learn english until I had to in pre-school. I have visited Ecuador many many times so I have been experience with the colloquial language in latin american countries. I love the language of spanish and being immersed in the culture. A Little Bit About Me...

I taught recitation for Honors Differential Equations, Differential Equations, Calculus 3, Calculus 2 and Introduction to Computer Science as an undergraduate at Georgia Tech and physics and astronomy labs as a graduate student at the University of Tennessee. I was consistently rated highly as a teacher by students.
I see teaching as a dialog between teacher and student and adjust the speed and depth of my teaching to best help the student succeed. Most importantly I want to the student to leave with a greater understanding of the subject than when they entered.

I love the one-on-one part of teaching. Connecting with kiddos, seeing the light bulb turn on in their faces. One of the reasons I am no longer teaching is the special ed paperwork was getting to take up more time than the teaching was. Plus I now have 2 small children at home. I really miss the one-on-one part of teaching. I know there is more than 1 way to teach every concept in math! Showing a kid this, is very important! Also showing them that it's okay to be scared! That all it takes is some patience and someone to guide you though it and math can be conquered!!!
After graduation I began teaching in Missouri at the middle school level for students with behavioral disorders. I taught all subjects in my classroom. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is about positive feedback and patience. With my experience in psychology I have found that a calm nurturing environment lends itself to bolstering understanding for children. Also, a calm environment allows a child the ability to think without excessive distraction. Everyone learns in their own personal way and as a mentor I would like to help foster that.
As a college graduate and a mentor at a behavioral health facility I have gained valuable knowledge and confidence in one on one guidance.
