Sign Language interpretor/teacher

I grew up with both of my parents being deaf. I have compassion and understanding for those in the deaf community as it is hard to obtain employment and respect for those with a disability. I want to help teach sign language and/or be an interpretor to help others suceed in life. Having graduated with a degree in elementary education, I have learned the variety of students' learning styles and know how to target each child's unique style of learning. With a strong background in reading, English, and history throughout high school and college courses, I have been able to use engaging activities and multiple strategies to tutor and teach others. Foreign languages come easy to me as well, and I have particular interest in German and Spanish. I believe teaching is best learned though practical examples (especially math). because I used to say the same thing that I'm sure that kids today are saying. When am i ever going to use this in my daily life? Its important to let them see the applications from knowing calculus based formulas to predict market declines (algorithms), to basic math in in inventory work, to understanding complex words and their proper sentence usage so they can understand what rudimentary or neophyte means in a job interview. Also, its important to inspire. most of the children/ teens in a tutoring course have been discouraged due to the fact that they are not picking up on a subject as quickly as their peers. That why its understandable that if they have someone to look up to, as i did, in a particular course they tend to do better and go beyond what they though originally possible.
