I know how to help students study and learn. I can teach ways to get important information from notes and textbooks to help students complete assignments and increase test scores. I also desire to increase a student's love of learning. I believe that all children learn differently. I do not have a specific way of teaching because I get to know my students and help them learn depending on their abilities and learning style. I do however believe in each student learning to do things on their own—I am their tutor, not someone to do their homework for them. I believe in constantly practicing until the concepts are grasped. I have been a classroom teacher for the last 18 years. I have taught in both Public Junior High and High Schools, as well as Private School. I love teaching science, and love to make the class exciting. It really gets students going when you use current events to teach and when kids debate issues, it is a great learning opportunity!
I think all children are driven to learn, and if directed with a little help, everyone can learn how science changes peoples lives. I feel more like a coach and less like a lecturer.
