It's true that every student learns at a different pace with a different style. I like to see myself as a cameleon teacher, catering my format to individual needs. My style tends to be laid back so that students are comfortable expressing their likes and dislikes with me, curbing their fear of not understanding something. I love to use metaphors, pictures, examples and stories to illustrate the subject in a new and perhaps clearer way. I don't teach and run - I make sure the student understands before moving on to the next problem. I have them work through something in front of me so I can make sure they know what they're doing. I love sharing my knowledge with others and at the same time, I learn and gain alot from my students. When students come in with questions, I will first ask them what subject is it for, does the teacher give out any guidelines about the assignment, and what difficulties you have with this assignment. If it is math problem, I'll do serveral problems step-by-step with my students. Then, I'll pick a problem that was similiar to the problem that we just worked with, and ask them to do it.
