A Little Bit About Me...

During college, I worked as a home-school Spanish, Language Arts and History teacher for students ages seven through fourteen. I volunteered in classrooms, tutored, and provided childcare for children with special needs. I studied Spanish and abroad. Upon graduation, I began my teaching career in L.A. where I taught kindergarten. After three years, I decided to teach abroad and moved to a small Chinese city where I taught preschool. Back in the U.S., I taught an intervention class for struggling readers in the second and third grades. I also tutored for students after school in their homes. Currently, I am a second grade teacher at La Joya Elementary School in Salinas, CA. I also taught kindergarten at the school for two years.

A Little Bit About Me...

My goal is to get my teaching credential in the next two years. I am convinced about my vocation of teaching. The idea of being part in the development of the children is my biggest motivation to become a teacher. I know that this job demands huge effort and comes with enormous responsibilities but it will be worth. I have worked with children. I think the best way to help them to improve in school is to make them feel confident in order to recognize their strengthnesses and their weaknesses and working in both.
I reached University level in Mexico before moving to the United States. More About This Tutor...

My teaching style is very unique. I start off by just getting to know the student and having them get to know and trust me. I then build on that trust factor while helping the students with their homework. I connect well with students and they trust me. In the end, it seems to be the best way the students I work with learn and finish their work. Learning should be fun and not boring. It should be interactive and not just book work. If a student can experience learning first hand, they're bound to acquire enough knowledge to help them succeed.
