As a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a BS in Elementary Education, I received my first teaching position as a special education teacher in the Rockford School District, 205. After two years, I moved into a 6th grade position, teaching Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science. I received my Master's degree from Walden University in Middle Level Education with areas of concentration in Language Arts and Social Studies. I went on to teach 7th and 8th grade Language Arts. I am a true believer of rewards for excellence and this is how I teach. I believe every positive milestone should be marked and celebrated in some short way. I also am a firm believer in laying out the plan for overall growth with the student. I currently work with students in 3rd through 8th grade teaching music and spiritual gifts indentification classes. I have volunteered in classrooms of elementary age students during my college years. I worked with students one on one in these settings catching them up with the rest of their class on current projects.

I enjoy teaching people subjects that I understand. My preferred subjects to teach would be anything math, finance and accounting related. My teaching style is similar to coaching; I use positive reinforcement, motivate and lead by example. I look forward to any challenge and helping individuals succeed. I graduated from high school in 2003 with honors and graduated in 2007 from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. Throughout my schooling I have attended multiple classes in reading/writing, science, history, computer/I.T., foreign language, creative arts, business and math.
