Experience Summary
As a recent student, my online education used the most progressive and innovative resources available. The BS in Interdisciplinary Studies enabled me to become proficient in three, instead of one discipline. A focus in English-Professional Writing, Business and Psychology, provided advanced knowledge of many subjects, plus research, writing and communication skills, essential to online learning. I have skillfully produced thousands of academic papers, requiring extensive research, on a wide-range of study topics, making me aware of and responsive to students’ needs.
Furthermore, as a Support Substitute for my local school district, I have worked with students of all ages, in a variety of ways, including one-on-one tutoring.
Teaching Style
I have sons ages 17 and 20, and continually took an active role in fostering their education. From the time they first set foot in kindergarten, through high school, I regularly volunteered, supporting their and the schools’ needs. I assisted in the classroom, chaperoned field trips, dances, etc., planned and participated at parties, special events and any role that could make a small difference.
I am especially sensitive to the needs of students with disabilities, particularly those with ADD or similar issues. I not only have first-hand, personal experiences with the challenges faced, but have education focused toward disability studies, abnormal and child psychology and even juvenile delinquency.
