A Little Bit About Me...

Through my teaching style I emphasize hands-on learning by using manipulatives. I also use modeling and repetition. I believe the best way to learn something is to practice doing it yourself over and over again using various methods. Practice makes permanent! I enjoy incorporating fun and games into education because I believe learning should be fun!
I graduated in December 2013 with a Bachelor's of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. My specializations are in elementary education (prek-6th grade) and all-level special education. I worked in Hale Center ISD for the after school enrichment program at Akin Elementary from August 2012 until the program ended in June 2013. I have obtained my Bachelors in human Services and completed the teaching certification program at Lonestar College. I have passed my content exams in special education ec-12 and the generalist 4-8. I will take my social studies 4-8 content next month. I have taught adults with special needs for two years. I am substituting in intermediate and middle school grades while seeking a teaching position. My passion in teaching is reading, writing and social studies.
My teaching style is differentiated teaching, as this combines many different learning styles and is able to reach most, if not all studens.
