I have enjoyed a unique educational background, having been required to study all academic disciplines as an undergraduate. The benefits of this unique approach to education later inspired me to earn a Master's degree in the development of consciousness, which is the basis for the learning process. My studies have also included intensive foreign language courses at UCSC, the Goethe Institute, and M.U.M.. As a graduate of Sociology I have gained a lot of knowledge about how society functions. I was interested in this area of study to understand peoples because I have always had compassion for others. I have participated in a 4 unit class where i taught Spanish to 8-11 year old children and it consisted of developing a plan that included songs and dancing to learn Spanish in a fun and animated way. I have done research on homelessness, and had an internship with a non profit that provides social services for those in need. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated with an AA Degree in Liberal Studies from Allan Hancock Community College. I then transferred to San Francisco State University where I earned my BA Degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Sociology. Upon graduation, I began working as a Substitute Teacher for grades K-8 in Santa Maria, CA. During this time, I was responsible for teaching many subjects including English, math, music, history and physical education. I also conducted many small group tutoring sessions.
