I love mathematics, I am not going to deny it. I find it to be one of the most thrilling subjects out there. I can understand why so many people dislike it. My job will be not to make you like it but to help you appreciate it and not take it for granted. I am a very patient person with many helpful tips, books and mnemonics to help others to understand. I want to show people that math geeks are people to who want to see the best in everyone, numerically.

My comments on tutoring Logic : My specialty is in formal logic.

I have five years' experience as a writing tutor at my university, during which I wrote and presented papers at multiple regional conferences for university writing tutors. I rose to become one of the most respected and requested tutors out of my peers. I many credit hours of pedagogy and teaching methodology classes, both for Teaching ESL and Latin, and a semester of student teaching under my belt.
I employ the Socratic method of asking lots and lots of questions. I see a tutorial as not a time for a student to soak up information, but to engage the mind and use the tools he has already been given. Of course, if a student truly doesn't know something crucial, I will tell him. I always try to make my instruction at least a little bit funny, and to connect the material to the student's interests, because these factors are known to enhance learning.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching philosophy is that all students can learn, as long as they are motivated to learn, the educator is motivated to teach, and the academic instruction is modified and molded to the learning style(s) of the individual students. Naturally, all students learn material differently, so a variety of instructional strategies need to be involved in the learning process. I care about each of my students, and I strive to motivate them to succeed.
I am currently a private tutor for middle school and high school students that need educational assistance in biology, algebra, and chemistry. Since each student has different needs, I assess the obstacles to academic success during my first meeting with him/her, and structure our future sessions accordingly. A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching has been my passion since a very long time. I believe having knowledge about a subject dose not mean that person can teach well. A teacher needs lot of other very important qualities. Teacher should be capable of making a subject interesting for his/her students. Teacher needs to include lot of fun activities in the teaching so that a particular subject does not seem boring or hard. I strongly believe everyone can do everything, there is nothing difficult in this world for any student to achieve, the key lies in how well the teacher can communicate with kids and explain in a fun way ! I have been teaching since I was 20 ! My first teaching experience was tutoring all subjects to middle school kids.

More About This Tutor...

I love to teach and have a passion for working with students with disabilities. I believe all children can learn, but many have their own individual learning style. My goal is to modify and accommodate those students, so that they are able to succeed and receive a high quality education. I am extremely patient, organized, and creative. I enjoy trying a variety of approaches until I find what works best for each individual child. I believe as educators we are responsible for setting up our students for success. We should give them many opportunities to learn through their own discoveries, so they can take some ownership over their learning and feel motivation and pride in what they have accomplished.

A Little Bit About Me...

I obtained my BS in Business Management from Clemson University in August of 2009. During my time there I was a member of the Varsity Swimming team where I competed against world class athletes within the Atlantic Coast Conference. Balancing life as a student-athlete created a unique and challenging college experience for me. As well as athletic experience, I served as an Assistant to the Director of Community Relations at IPTAY Collegiate Club for 2 years. Within this position I was in charge of a variety of volunteer events for student-athletes, many of which involved tutoring and mentoring elementary aged children. I plan on beginning my pursuit of a MAT in Early Childhood Education this May at Kent State University.
My teaching style is extremely hands-on. I have found through my coaching and swim lesson experience that I relate well to kids and by approaching the situation in ... read more
