Logic is one of my top subjects!

I completed and earned my Bachelor of Science degree cum laude in Mathematics from Marietta College in May 2012. I am currently attending John Carroll University to pursue my Masters degree. I tutored in high school and college for about 8 years. I am a mathematics major with a minor in history. I have taken upper level math courses all my life and I have helped out/participated with the college's mathematics department on occasion. I also have a love for the sciences, especially taking Chemistry and Astronomy just recently. My strong fields in mathematics include Algebra, PreCalculus, Calculus I, II, III and Discrete Mathematics.
I love mathematics, I am not going to deny it. I find it to be one of the most thrilling subjects out there. I can understand why so many people dislike it. My job will be not to make you like it but to help you appreciate it and not take it for granted. ... read more

My comments on tutoring Logic : My specialty is in formal logic.

I have five years' experience as a writing tutor at my university, during which I wrote and presented papers at multiple regional conferences for university writing tutors. I rose to become one of the most respected and requested tutors out of my peers. I many credit hours of pedagogy and teaching methodology classes, both for Teaching ESL and Latin, and a semester of student teaching under my belt.
I employ the Socratic method of asking lots and lots of questions. I see a tutorial as not a time for a student to soak up information, but to engage the mind and use the tools he has already been given. Of course, if a student truly doesn't know something crucial, I will tell him. I always try to make my instruction at least a little bit funny, and to connect the material to the student's interests, because these factors are known to enhance learning.

I am currently a private tutor for middle school and high school students that need educational assistance in biology, algebra, and chemistry. Since each student has different needs, I assess the obstacles to academic success during my first meeting with him/her, and structure our future sessions accordingly. I did my student teaching at St. Helen's School in Newbury, Ohio. My teaching here has given me valuable experience with classroom management, and with modifying academic instruction of the material being taught based on varying student abilities and comprehension. I taught subject matter pertaining to biology to the 7th graders, and material relating to motion to the 8th graders.
My teaching philosophy is that all students can learn, as long as they are motivated to learn, the educator is motivated to teach, and the academic instruction is modified and molded to the learn ... read more

My background has been in Science, have a masters degree in Microbiology and worked in pharmaceutical company and research institute for a total of 4 yrs. I have 2nd masters degree in business administration. I majored in Finance. I have 2 financial Analyst internship experience. I am actively volunteering in my field of accounting and finance. Teaching has been my passion since a very long time. I believe having knowledge about a subject dose not mean that person can teach well. A teacher needs lot of other very important qualities. Teacher should be capable of making a subject interesting for his/her students. Teacher needs to include lot of fun activities in the teaching so that a particular subject does not seem boring or hard. I strongly believe everyone can do everything, there is nothing diff ... read more
