I have taught in many areas of study. Since I was young, I taught my younger family members the importance of manners, honesty, care, and responsibility. I believe this has carried into my real-life career as a teacher. I have taught at schools such as Hope Hall in Rochester, NY and Lemoyne Elementary in Syracuse, NY. There I helped my students with their basic subject courses during their class time period. I have taught dance at Kami's Kix Dance Studio which has helped me to gain stronger classroom management skills as well as gaining a thicker patience. A Little Bit About Me...

I finished my degree by going to summer and night school; I graduated in 1979. I was the first in my family to go to college and I am very proud of that. I have become a much better writer and am much more aware of grammar through writing reports, technical papers and SOPs. For a couple of years I volunteered for Literacy Volunteers because of my love of reading.
I like working with children. They are so appreciative and excited when they learn and figure out a new word or anything. I am easy going and very supportive. GIven a good learning atmosphere, good support, encouragement and enthusiasm and children can learn. Everyone learns in different ways; in a one-on-one situation that can be discovered and lessons designed to best help the child.

A Little Bit About Me...

• As a NESCAC undergraduate, I explored many areas of study. In addition to earning a BA in English and American Literature while completing a minor in African Studies, I also became fluent in French through study, travel, and teaching. My first teaching experiences were in high school, when I choreographed musicals and tutored a young Chinese boy in English. In college, I co-instructed a drum circle. Finally, this past summer I worked as a Residential Advisor at the Middlebury-Monterey Language Academy. In this position I was an academic advisor, a social mediator, and a confidante. In addition to formal tutoring, my strong writing skills have attracted peers in need of a second opinion on their work since high school.
