A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching for 13 years. I began teaching Social Studies classes at the high school level and taught every variety of student for 6 years. I then received my Masters in Special Education and began working with special needs students in the high school setting. While teaching Special Education students,I received my Specialists Degree in Special Education. I currently teach Social Studies to learning disabled, emotional behavior students, and Mildly Intellectually disabled students. I am also in charge of the tutoring program for the whole school in Social Studies. I have a lot of patience and am willing to try anything. I also teach 2 resource classes to the LD and EBD students where we work on their individual problems. Every student is different so I have to be a jack of all trades to work with them.

Lessons Planned Just For You!

A blend of traditional and contemporary teaching techniques are utilized to ensure learning. Hands-on lessons using a variety of mediums are used to maximize retention of skills. I have my A.A. degree in Theatre and Communications and will be receiving my Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing with a minor in Film Studies in December of 2012. I have experience with children ranging from grades K-12th. I have been a Teacher's Aide since 2004 and a Summer Counselor since 2006. I am also bilingual and although it is not on my list for tutor availability, I do have experience in the language barriers concerning English and the Spanish language. Language Arts is one of my top subjects!

I have been working with students in both one-on-one and group settings for going on 14 years.
