Arabic is one of my top subjects! ***I am not a native speaker*** I worked from 2002-2011 as an Arabic linguist for the DOD and other governmental agencies. I was trained in MSA at the Defense language Institute in Monterey CA where I graduated with honors. I was then trained in both the Levant and Iraqi dialects. I was a teaching assistant and tutor at The Ohio state university from 2011-2014

After graduating High School early (Jan 2001) I did two semester at the University of Akron majoring in Political Science. After the events of 9/11 I enlisted in the US Navy (Jan 2002). I was trained at the prestigious Defense Language Institute (DLI) in Monterey CA, with follow up training in Texas. I then spent the next years working as an Arabic linguist and Intelligence Analyst at a Joint Service Operation. I specialized in Iraqi and Syrian Dialects. By 2006 I was a shift NCOIC (Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, basically a supervisor). I left the service in 2008 with an honorable discharge and started working for the department of the army as a civilian but filling the same roll. After suffering some medical issues I moved back to North East Ohio in 2015.

My comments on tutoring Arabic : Arabic is my native language. I have a Bachelor's degree in early childhood education. I can teach kids the basics of Arabic language including vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and punctuation.

I have a total of one academic year teaching experience at the kindergarten (KG) level. This was part of my practicum experience as an undergraduate student. Right now, I am working on full-filling the requirements of admission to a graduate program. A Little Bit About Me...

I taught for one year as a Title 1 teacher for grades 3 - 6 for English and Math and I taught French for two years and I tutored Arabic in a church for young learners.I also worked as an assistant teacher at Gilmour Academy in the Montessori school. I also did tutor French and Arabic for private learners.
I use a lot of visuals, repetition, and I yes/no questions, and them move on to either/or quetions. I always keep my students alert and interested through lots of fun games and communication one -to one or through cooperative groups in a larger setting.
