I believe that Math is a subject of concepts and if the concepts are clear than any body can do math. Making concepts clear depends on the teacher who analyze the understading of each individual and teaches him accordingly.

As a recent college graduate, I understand the high expectations and the stress that it can cause a college student, especially coming from a school where most professors expected students to teach themselves concepts. I love teaching because of the feeling of helping someone who is truly struggling in class! I recognize that each student learns differently. It is important to me to assses the style that is best for the student. I will always differentiate the way I teach to the benefit of the pupil. If a student needs more visual aid and description, that is how I will teach them. If a different student needs manipulatives or prefers auditory lessons, I will provide that for them. My style focuses on the processes in arriving at a solution. The learning goal in mathematics is to impart understanding of the process of working toward a solution, not attaining the solution. In mathematics as many other endeavors, it is how we proceed to a goal that is important, not the goal itself. As a student in high school, I always have had a passion for math, as well as a passion to teach. I earned my Associate's Degree in Math Education from Mary Holmes College & went on to pursue my Bachelor's Degree from Mississippi State University. Even while pursuing my degrees, I was a Substitute Teacher for the West Point School District for almost 4 years. I then became a Teacher Assistant for the Starkville School District, and now I am a Pre-K Teacher for Oktibbeha COunty School District.
