A Little Bit About Me...

I am certified in Elementary Education as well as Specific Learning Disabilites with twenty four years experience. I have taught first grade for three years, third grade for nine years, and special education resource for twelve years. My special education experiences includes grades 1-8, inclusion, and writing web-based IEp's. Teaching has been my life--I give everything I can to the students I work with--enthusiasm, positive support, and preparation to the work study area.
My teaching style is based on positive feedback and reinforcement as well as using every means available in order to get a concept oover to a student. Through my years of teaching I have learned that a sense of humor, patience, and letting students know that I truly care about them goes a long way towards building a positive learning experience between teacher and student. I am a graduate of Alcorn State University. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Science. During my four years at Alcorn State University, I took a number of biology, chemistry, math classes. During that time I perform independent studies, written research papers and had countless hours in lab. In the last few years I have tutored in science, biology,and math. Tutoring has been very fulfilling. In addition to school, I have been in the health field for over six years with by job.
