I enjoy working with students and showing them the joy of learning. I believe that children learn most in small groups and one on one environments. I hold a bachelor's degree in Political Science, which focused on writing and research. A Little Bit About Me...

As the daughter of educators, I have been exposed to the education system all my life. As a result of this exposure, I became very interested in tutoring and teaching. I taught for two years as a substitute teacher before attending law school. I previously worked as a substitute teacher with Morrow Elementary in North Lauderdale, Florida where I taught test-taking strategies for the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test. Most recently, I have volunteered with Youth Encouragement services as a tutor.
Based on previous experience I have discovered that the same teaching style does not work for every child. I find that explaining each topic and asking the child question gives a clear indication of their understanding. Based on responses to the questions adjustments may be made to address each child's need.

I believe that when a student does not do well in school, it is not because that student cannot learn. Different teaching methods speak to different students, and sometimes a student simply needs a fresh and alternative introduction to subject material. My job as a tutor is to find the teaching method that speaks most clearly to my student. A Little Bit About Me...

For four years I taught in private schools, where I gave instruction at the middle and high school levels in English, French, Hebrew, computer programming, and office applications (spreadsheets, etc). I taught Math and English for one year at a Huntingdon Learning Center (elementary through high school students). Prior to this I taught French and Linguistics courses at the State University of NY at Albany where I earned a degree in each of those fields. Later I became a database administrator.
