I have a strong math and science background. In college, I started out in chemical engineering (2 1/2 yrs.) and then switched to education. My bachelor’s degree is a dual degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. Initially, I taught first grade in a parochial school. My next job was teaching math at the high school level to students with various learning disabilities. Next, I taught individualized mathematics at a science and technology high school. I also had experience team teaching in this environment. Presently, I am a high school resource teacher for 10th grade. I have previously taught resource at the 8th and 9th grade levels as well. Throughout my education I've had a drive to teach. While earning my BS in chemistry with minor in biology I assisted many fellow students by acting as both a laboratory assistant and as a tutor in general chemistry and organic chemistry. My teaching experience continued into my post-graduate career where I acted as a Teaching Assistant primarily responsible for teaching 2 to 3 organic chemistry laboratory sections per semester. Because of my course of education as well as my continuous participation in teaching I've had ample experience helping prepare students for exams as well as writing research papers and laboratory reports.
