A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in diversity in teaching styles because each student is unique and each has different abilities in various areas. As a substitute in the Woodburn School district I could pick up material quickly and teach in various teaching styles depending on the classroom.
After graduation, I taught on a transitional teaching license. I taught in the Woodburn School District. I then went to Japan and taught English as a second language. I grew up between Bolivia and the United States and speak Spanish and English fluently. I took statistics in university and taught math in Spanish from time to time as a substitute for the Woodburn School District. In Woodburn I taught a self contained classroom for a while. A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked as a tutor since I was sixteen years old, first as a peer tutor, and then in various contexts following my college graduation. I have experience working with learners at varying levels: special education, advanced, learning disabilities, and standard and have worked in classrooms, treatment programs, and wilderness programs. I am particularly comfortable working with students struggling either because of their behavioral issues or learning or developmental disabilities. I have an extensive academic background and attended a liberal arts college, in which I studied all disciplines but especially honed my writing and research skills. As a student of the College of Science, I excel both at detail in quantifiable information , and the ability to translate professional speak into everyday language. I excel in English, Science, and Psychology. I have been tutoring for five years and homeschool my 8-year-old stepdaughter.
