My comments on tutoring German : I am a native German and a certified German teacher. I am teaching German right now and have been teaching the language for the past 8 years at all levels.

I taught German for 15 years in Public as well as Private schools in North Carolina. I am a native German speaker and received my teaching degree in Germany with a major in German. Besides teaching in my native country, I also taught German to French students ( 2 years) while living in the suburbs of Paris for 10 years. After my move to the US I first taught French for several years in a charter school before the school added German as a Foreign Language besides French and Spanish. My experience of teaching German covers all grade levels including elementary , middle school as well as High School, grades 9-12. including AP German. I received the 2013 National German teacher award for NC !!

German Family. Was in Germany/Austria/Switzerland numerous times and spoke fluent High German since 1973. I have a Bachelors Degree in Geoscience from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. I lived in Germany for 9 years, moved back to the states in 2010. I attended 7 years of school in Germany, where German was the primary language spoken. In 2011 I became a teachers assistant for my German teacher at Wakefield High School, Raleigh NC. I also went to Wakefield Middle School and taught 20 kids, once a week German, for 3 months.

A Little Bit About Me...

For over twenty years I have taught at the college level, with extensive expertise in teaching the liberal arts to engineering majors. Much of my work is directed towards teaching research, writing, editing, and analytical skills. I have expertise in writing, editing, research, and most importantly, synthesizing information. While in college, I tutored for three years at a home for 'wayward' boys. My own daughter had some learning disabilities (auditory dyslexia) and though I would not take full credit for this, she is now a successfull first year college student (with a 3.75 average her first semester) and an avid reader. A Little Bit About Me...

I've taught students in a variety of environments: as a chemistry lab TA, as a youth fencing coach, and as a private tutor. More About This Tutor...

For my first experience in teaching, I worked with both high school and elementary school students who were learning disabled and in need of help. I used the Orton-Gillingham method for dyslexia and found that it really seemed to work well to suit the student’s needs. From there I went on to work two years in resource rooms working with middle school and high school students in a one-on-one and group setting for intense tutoring. I am now working as an elementary school teacher and I miss being able to focus on giving my full attention to students one-on-one.
My teaching style is adapted to meet the student’s needs. I firmly believe that each child learns differently.
