From age seven, I have had a passion for teaching and public speaking. I am involved with a continuing education program that hones speaking and teaching ability. In high school, I helped to pilot and served as captain of the Speech and Debate team (National Forensics League). I also worked as a Teacher Cadet. I took four years to volunteer at an educational center after high school where I completed an advanced course in public speaking. I was a full-time volunteer minister for 15 years total, and I dedicated much time to working with troubled and at-risk youths. For a year, I volunteered with Lapsits for Literacy. I was selected for instructor duty in 1986 and received extensive training on various instructing and teaching modalities along with counseling techniques.
