I find that by relating specific topics to broader perspectives on a subject as well as related subjects, the student can gain a greater appreciation for the coherence and importance of a particular subject area.
I have experience working with students who are advanced and seeking supplementary tutoring as well as with students who are having difficulty with a subject. I have tutored mathematics as well as chemistry, biology, physics, and other subjects. I have tutored students from a range of ages and I worked with my first student over four years ago while I was in college.

I realize not everyone processes information in the same way and work hard to vary my teaching methods as needed. If a student is struggling, I seek input from the student and their parents. I believe students should have an active role in their own education and encourage them to give me feedback. Parental involvement is also something that is very valuable.
I have a broad range of teaching experience. I've worked with students with behavior and developmental disorders, English Language Learner students, and a wide variety of ability and age levels.
